Broad Nose Correction in Hyderabad

Refine. Reshape. Restore natural balance.

A nose that is wide at the bridge, the tip or the nostrils can overpower the rest of the face. Broad nose correction narrows only what needs narrowing, using precise bone and cartilage techniques, while keeping your heritage and protecting your breathing.

What is a broad nose?

A nose is usually described as broad when its width, at the bridge, the tip or the nostril base, is out of proportion with the rest of the face. A useful guide is the distance between the inner corners of your eyes: a nose much wider than this can make the face look heavier.

Correction narrows the bony and cartilage framework, refines the tip and, where needed, reduces the nostril base, while keeping your ethnic identity and an open airway.

02

Types of broad nose

A broad nose is not one problem. We identify exactly which part is wide, so only that part is treated.

1 · Upper third

Wide nasal bones

Widely spaced nasal bones make the upper face look heavy. Controlled osteotomies move the bone walls towards the midline.

2 · Middle third

Wide bridge

Upper lateral cartilages that splay outwards give a flat, wide look from the front. They are reshaped and narrowed with spreader sutures or grafts.

3 · Lower third

Bulbous tip

Excess or widely spread tip cartilages create a bulky tip. A cephalic trim and dome sutures refine it.

4 · Nostril base

Wide or flared nostrils

A wide nostril base, often more noticeable when smiling, is reduced with a cinch or wedge (Weir) excision in the natural crease.

5 · The skin

Thick skin

Thick, oily skin can hide the shape underneath. A stronger cartilage framework, and careful thinning where safe, improves definition.

Most patients

A combined approach

Many broad noses involve more than one of these areas, so the plan usually combines several techniques.

Ethnic rhinoplasty

The surgical pathway

Our aim is to narrow the nose without weakening the nasal valve.

  1. Facial analysisMeasurements of your face, including the distance between the inner corners of your eyes, set the target width.
  2. Structural planningWe plan exactly how much bone and cartilage to reshape, from the front, side and base views.
  3. OsteotomiesControlled bone cuts narrow the upper third.
  4. Middle third refinementSpreader sutures or grafts from your own cartilage narrow the bridge while keeping the internal valve open.
  5. Tip refinementA cephalic trim and dome sutures define the tip.
  6. Nostril base reductionA cinch or wedge (Weir) excision narrows wide or flared nostrils.
  7. Airway checkBreathing is protected at every stage of the narrowing.
05

Narrowing without harming your breathing

Narrowing a nose too much is a common mistake, and it can restrict airflow. Our protocol is designed to prevent it:

  • Keep the internal valve open with spreader grafts or flaring sutures.
  • Avoid removing too much cartilage, and use structural grafts to resist collapse.
  • Stabilise the tip with interdomal and transdomal sutures.
  • Check the width from every angle: front, side and base.
  • Respect your ethnic features and the natural angles of your face.
ENT-led functional and aesthetic care Because our surgeons are ENT specialists, the breathing inside the nose is planned alongside its new width. About functional rhinoplasty.

Who is a good candidate?

You may be suited to broad nose correction if you have one or more of:

  • Wide nasal bones at the top of the bridge.
  • A bulbous or bulky tip.
  • Wide or flared nostrils, or a wide nostril base.
  • Thick, oily skin with thick soft tissue underneath.
  • A nose wider than the distance between the inner corners of your eyes.
  • A fully grown nose, usually from about 18 years.
  • Realistic expectations about how much narrowing is possible.
07

Recovery after broad nose correction

Days 1 to 3Early swelling
  • Swelling around the eyes and congestion
  • Keep your head raised and use cold compresses
Days 5 to 7Splint off
  • The splint is removed
  • Nostril-base stitches removed if a base reduction was done
Week 2Back to work
  • Most bruising has faded
  • Most people return to desk work
Weeks 4 to 6Major swelling settles
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and heavy straining until then
Months 3 to 6Tip refines
  • The tip continues to gain definition
  • Thick skin is monitored closely
Month 12Final shape
  • Grafts have settled
  • The final shape is established

Broad nose correction cost in Hyderabad

Every quote is individual. It depends on:

  • Osteotomies: bone work is more involved than cartilage work alone.
  • Tip refinement, with sutures and any grafts.
  • Nostril base reduction (Weir or cinch).
  • Any breathing correction, such as valve collapse or a deviated septum, done at the same time.
  • Revision cases, which may need rib cartilage and more operating time.
Insurance and TPA support Cosmetic narrowing is self-paid. The functional part, when a breathing problem is documented by endoscopy, may be eligible for partial cover; approval depends on your insurer. Interest-free EMI options are available. More about rhinoplasty cost.

Frequently asked questions

Is broad nose correction permanent?

The bone and cartilage changes are long-lasting once healing is complete, which takes up to a year. Your nose will still age naturally with the rest of your face, and thick skin can take longer to show full definition.

Will my nose look too narrow or pinched?

We aim for natural narrowing, not maximum narrowing. The width is planned in proportion to your face, using the inner corners of your eyes as a guide, and the internal valve is supported so the nose stays balanced and breathes well.

Is the surgery painful?

The operation is done under general anaesthesia and usually takes 2 to 4 hours. Afterwards most people feel fullness and congestion rather than sharp pain, controlled with medicines. If the nostril base was narrowed, that area can be tender for 3 to 5 days.

Will there be visible scars?

Usually very little. In open rhinoplasty, a small inverted-V incision across the columella fades over time. Nostril-base incisions are placed in the natural crease where the nostril meets the cheek and closed with fine stitches.

Does insurance cover broad nose correction?

Purely cosmetic narrowing is not usually covered. If you also have a documented breathing problem, such as valve collapse or a deviated septum, the functional part may be eligible for partial cover. An endoscopy documents the blockage, and our billing team can coordinate with your TPA.

What are the risks?

Swelling, bruising and minor asymmetry can occur while the nose heals over 12 months. Narrowing too much can narrow the internal valve, which is why we use spreader grafts or sutures to protect it. Bleeding, infection and the need for revision are less common, and we discuss them with you before surgery.

What is the right age for broad nose correction?

The nose should have finished growing, so we usually recommend it from about 18 years.
